HOMMAGE À PIERRE SCHOENDOERFFER
C’est avec grande tristesse que nous avons appris le décès de Pierre Schoendoerffer intervenu le 14 mars 2012, alors qu’il était âgé de 83 ans.
Nous lui rendons aujourd’hui hommage.
Pierre Schoendoerffer était un grand monsieur.
Son oeuvre cinématographique et littéraire nous avait toujours été source d’admiration et d’inspiration. Elle le restera.
Il nous avait fait l’honneur et l’amitié d’accepter que nous lui consacrions un documentaire intitulé Pierre Schoendoerffer, la sentinelle de la mémoire, il y a un peu plus d’un an de cela.
Quelques images des entretiens filmés qu’il nous avait accordés à cette occasion ont été reprises dans le journal de 20h00 diffusé sur TF1 ce 14 mars 2012.
En outre, un hommage à Pierre Schoendoerffer rédigé par Raphaël Millet a été publié en ligne dans l’édition singapourienne du Petit Journal (car c’est à Singapour, ville qu’il avait fréquentée dans les années 1970 alors qu’il cherchait à adapter à l’écran son propre roman L’Adieu au roi, que Pierre Schoendoerffer avait effectué son dernier grand voyage en Asie, en 2005, à l’occasion d’un hommage qui lui avait été rendu dans le cadre du Festival du film français ; et c’est là que Raphaël Millet avait alors fait sa connaissance) :

TRIBUTE TO PIERRE SCHOENDOERFFER
It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of Pierre Schoendoerffer on 14 March 2012, at age 83.
We are paying him homage.
Pierre Schoendoerffer was what we call in French a « grand monsieur ».
His cinema and literary works have always been and will always remain a source of admiration and inspiration to us.
A little bit more than a year ago, he had agreed to us filming a documentary about him titled Pierre Schoendoerffer, the Sentinel of Memory.
Some of the images we filmed on that occasion have been used in the obituary announcement made during TF1 Prime Time News on 14 March 2012.
